My new leather - Real McCoys Rough Out Type 3

Hey guys!

I just got this. It's super hot where I am, but you know how that goes! The leather is incredible. It's unlined rough out--I think that's basically like a thicker suede that hasn't been shaved down at all. It feels, smells, and looks incredible. The collar is horsehide, shinki probably. I think it fits perfect too.

Without further adieu...

Only flaw I saw, looks like the inside lining has had some abrasions and there's some black spots. I can still return it... I asked Superdenim if this is supposed to be normal. I think there's a tough line between if it's sloppy or just the nature of making jackets from a real thing that was living once, imperfections and all. What do you think?

Regardless though, I fucking love this jacket!

I wouldn't worry about the spots. Look super minimal to me. Love the fit on you. Congrats!

Nice jacket! I've always been tempted to get a suede or rough out jacket...this looks great. I like the details of the collar and buttons being a bit darker, adds a nice bit of pop and will look even better when the jacket shows a bit of wear.

If the imperfections are only on the inside, I don't think I'd bother exchanging it unless its super easy to get back to the store and they have one in stock ready to go.

So its completely unlined and the inside is smooth leather? How does that feel on the skin?

I have to say I'm usually not a huge fan of suede at all but this jacket literally looks twice as thick as the ones I've seen. Like those old 70's ranchers that weighed a ton.
It fits you to the nuts and looks to be really well tailored. If the small imperfections are no consequence to the hide I wouldn't sweat it. This jacket reminds me of a lighter colored version of the jacket my hero Huge Jacked-man wore in logan. I f'ing love it too!

Thanks guys! Yeah, I think it's pretty damn cool. I was inspired by this one because I have a denim type 2 that I love. This seems like a very easy-wearing jacket. Luckily, the imperfections are only on the inside, the outside is absolutely perfect.

@ProteinNerd, yep, it's unlined. I'm sure the comfort of that depends on the leather, but for this particular jacket it's insanely comfortable. Very very soft, and both the outside and inside smell amazing!

Some poor crude jacket love language for the Lounge...I would think, but it seems becoming common and supposedly should be acceptable by a growing number in todays world of over emphasizing a point with this regardless the format, and any objection.

@Benj, Excellent jacket! Really nice, even tho I'm not a big fan of suede. But this is actually the real deal, the proper napped leather - the underside of the hide and not the sanded split hide crap. Great fit, too!

The form doesn't matter and never will matter because it is fundamentally a lie. The only thing that matters is the content and TFL still delivers the best content you can find online and that's all that matters.

Can't blame a guy for being super excited about a cool new piece of gear! Sticks and stones and all that. Freedom of speech and expression tho... Should be part of this place, I believe. Regardless of whether or not I agree with what or how it's being said. Plus it takes *a lot* to actually offend me.

Can't blame a guy for being super excited for sure. I've been that way about a new jacket and other things many times myself.
'Freedom of speech' seems always bantered around by those who feel like they can say whatever they want where ever they want without any repercussion or objection. However this actually rarely applies to many/most forums since there are forum rules that supersede. It as if you are visiting someone else's domain or home. You might say what you want but if your actions become too outrageous the owner may not invite you back or even allow you in the door. Then you can stand out on the sidewalk and shout that 'you have rights' as much as you want. Vulgar language and 'freedom of speech' doesn't work in most peoples homes, but respect and consideration for everyone in the household does.
Two differing opinions here but which one is actually disrespectful. Let me guess....

I guess I find it curious that language is offensive to you in this thread but not the images posted in another, which by my account were much more vulgar. The Russian jacket thread, perhaps you missed it (but I doubt that). I found them to be so and felt they were wildly inappropriate, few seemed to mind. Nevertheless I'm powerless to do anything about it, save ignoring the poster and the thread all together and voicing my own opinion.
I see what you are getting at HD but I certainly don't think the language here is the most offensive thing I've seen posted as of late.
I personally don't feel I've disrespected anyone nor do I feel the language here is so outlandish or offensive. But you're right, it's not my house or my place to decide.

I don't want to keep harping about this and I'm certainly not a goody goody type personality but I do find that much of society has gradually changed where vulgarity is now expected to be accepted by all or just too bad if anyone may think it is objectionable or disrespectful. I tend to agree with you HD and count yourself lucky. There were some truly rotten images there and I was shocked they lasted as long as they did. But I don't want to derail this thread either so, 'nuff said.

Very cool and different. Who cares if it has a couple marks inside. Eventually, it will get some external wear. Probably add to the character. Definitely a keeper.
