Funnily enough it's a 1940's pattern, even though it looks quite 70's.

Yes, it's very much a 40s pattern. Certain elements of 30s / 40s menswear of course were echoed in the 70s, so you will get a lot of people for who that's their frame of reference. The splayed collar was a feature that came back in the 70s (though typically, at least in what I've handled, the 70s versions tend to be much more exaggerated), and tan / lighter shades of brown were also popular then too.

This is one of the Aero designs I've long had my eye on... in truth, money no object, I'd have three or four of this in different colours. It's a design I can very much see myself wearing the way I have my other Aeros - quite casual, 40s style geometric patter tie and a nice, wide trouser. Really nice stuff.

Like the boots too: Sendra have some great looking stuff on their website. I'm in love with the coppery-brown harness boots (Sprinter 1918? Something like that), though alas they haven't been in stock for so long I suspect they won't get them in again. I was always a pull-on or laces guy with boots, but I'm leaning towards picking up some with a zipper like that for ease of travel in colder weather; loafers are extremely convenient for getting through an airport, but an easy on/off boot like that would be a big advantage when flying in the colder months, saving a lot of suitcase space that boots for wearing at destination would otherwise take up. A touch of snakeskin is a nice, rock'n'roll edge, just enough Johnny Thunders vibe for me day to day (and of course *there* we're very much back to the 70s...).
