Does Lost Worlds leather have a nice or strong smell? I've never noticed comments on the smell of their leather.
I have purchased 6 LW jackets new. Usually not a definitive aroma except for my LW J100 in 3 oz. -- has a subtle but definite leather scent- very nice!!

It has a very strong smell in the beginning (fqhh 3.0) almost like burnt rubber. But, it gets less over time and doesn't take away from the greatness of the jacket...

I've bought 5 LW jackets over the years and all smell pleasantly like leather. Good leather. Not overwhelming to me at all.

Yes I agree the size is a bit large. I have two LW jackets. One is off the rack/sale 34. The other is a size 34 short custom which fits much better. His jackets are always well made and I get many compliments. I find the smell strong but heavenly.

My Easy Rider zipper on the pin side also sticks out slightly- It makes starting the zip up a little quicker. But, mine is the #10 upgraded Scovil zipper.
From an indebted lurker...

I got a Suburban recently which I love. The zip is a "paperclip" type Scovill... Same as you'd see on military jackets. I actually had wanted a #10 Talon but that's another story. Does anyone know if Lost Worlds mostly use Scovill #7s or #10s? I have no idea how to tell... It's a big zipper, stiff as hell... I actually want to change the puller or pull tab because I reckon the paperclip pull doesn't really suit the 50s casual jacket style. I'd rather it had a large square Talon or Conmar etc.

Thanks to everyone here for the great info and discussions.

I'll intro myself with a few pics shortly..

Lost Worlds sizes and zipper selection seem to vary somewhat according to when (year etc) they're made... Understandable with NOS zips I guess. Regarding size variations, I guess some of the auctioned LW items I see in Japan are possibly custom orders and/or trade orders where the retailer has specified particular measurements to meet their own market requirements... Which is why I sometimes see LW jackets with a 38 tag that measure more like size 34 regular!

LW declined to make me a regular 34 so I ordered via a great reseller based in Taiwan. Thankfully everything worked out and I was able to get a "regular" size 34...

Yes, 4oz. Everything is "standard" including liner. I like the satin - easier to throw on..

I wouldn't say it's overly warm although it definitely blocks the weather. I'll update in a separate post with fit picks tomorrow (already past midnight here as I write...)

Yes, I love the smell of Horween leather but sometimes when the aroma of one jacket fills an entire room it is a bit much.
Maybe Lost World jackets are how "manly" jackets are supposed to smell.

LW doesn't use horween, they have their own tannery.

My suburban has a Scovill zipper. Size 34... that is quite petite.

Very nice jacket. I kind of like the old Scovill zipper. I have one on a Navy jacket from 1972 and it still works smoothly.
