My hand at blocking...

Received my Open Road from Ebay today. I took some time to reblock the crown and reshape the brim to my liking. Have been practicing on other lesser hats for a while, using some of your fine hats as templates.

The hat started off with an Alpine crease, which was steamed out. Took some time and effort but I do believe I produced an okay c-crown and fedora pinch. Let me know what I can do to refine my skill. Also the hat retained some of the alpine crease, which is barely noticeable.

I will appreciate any suggestions or tips on how to perfect? I humbly submit...

Hey there Red...looks pretty dog gone good. You can barely see the previous creases. Very nice job. I found that removing the liner and flippind down the hat bad (they DO melt sometimes. I know...sigh...but then steam and a empty Grand Marnier bottle (its REALLY round) will work those creases out.

For an example see the MyHattIn Project thread.

Well done!

Bueno! Well done.

I am also working over my old knock-around Open Road. The brim had too much curl, so last night I threw a towel over the brim and used a steam iron on medium setting to flatten it a bit, working on a padded ironing board. Worked like a charm. I hope that when I shape up the crown it turns out as nicely as your did.
