It's not from "Ride...". I've been racking my brain. Not "Josey Wales" either. And it couldn't be much older than that.I don’t, HJ but it looks like it could have come from “Ride With the Devil” but you would know if it was from that. Looks familiar, though
I didn't recognize the actor, but the scene reminded me of a shootout in the woods I saw in the theater quite awhile back. Old timey Civil War stuff I thought... I remembered Jude Law and Renee Zellwegger were in the movie and searched for them and then found the movie. Was surprised to see the pic actually is of Jude Law. I thought it was another actor from the movie.

Thanks Doug! I only saw Cold Mountain once, at the theaters when it first came out. As I remember, my favorite character was played by James Gammon, now deceased.I didn't recognize the actor, but the scene reminded me of a shootout in the woods I saw in the theater quite awhile back. Is that Renee I, II, or now III?Yes, indeed, it is Jude Law in Cold Mountain. Good eye, Tukwila. My favorite character was feisty Ruby, played by Renee Zellwegger with a reasonably decent Appalachian accent:
I figured it was okay to post this here, since she is wearing a hat...

Cold Mountain maybe? At first I thought Ride With the Devil.
That's Jude Law from the movie, "Cold Mountain", a Civil War era love story with Nicole Kidman. In that picture from the movie scene Jude Law is about to gun down a Southern "Home Guard" villain. It was good movie and worth a watch.
I saw it only once when it first came out. What I remember most about it, & probably why I only saw it once was most of the plot centered around the relationship between the characters of Nicole Kidman & Renee Zellweger while the men were off at war. Only James Gammon's character remained home due to his age. That's Jude Law from the movie, "Cold Mountain", a Civil War era love story with Nicole Kidman. My biggest memory of the movie was when Union soldiers dug a trench under the Confederate camp and filled it with explosives and blew it up leaving a big crater that they charged into and became targets for the Confederate soldiers shooting down on them. That scene was based on an actual event in the Civil War when Union General Ambrose Burnside ordered his troops to charge the Confederates and they became trapped in the crater that was left by the explosion.I saw it only once when it first came out. Spoiler Alert: don't watch if you haven't seen the movie but plan to do so...
Kidman wore a great hat in the movie as well. But she could wear a beer mug on her head and look good!!That's Jude Law from the movie, "Cold Mountain", a Civil War era love story with Nicole Kidman.
