Moth Holes on Aero Wool Linings?

Yeah, I looked at my Highwayman's lining the other day and lo and behold the moths had taken a few small nibbles out of my lining while it was slumbering on the closet floor during the summer. No biggy. I can always send it back for a relining when it's truly torn to shreds.
Anybody else?

I was hugely paranoid about that when Started getting wool suits and jackets (and leather with wool linings).
I spent a lot of time online looking for prevention measures but realized that we didn't really have an issue here in SoCal.
None of my gear (most of it less than 7 years old) has any moth holes, but I always look out for it.
I would look for solutions to your region as moths seem to vary from climate/region.

I would have thought that new wool items are by default chemically moth-proof.
Permament moth-proof chemical appretures ("EULAN" in Germany) were already widespred by the mid-1930's.
Such suits/garments have not a single moth nibble.

I don't know... but perhaps there is some spray that you could use to moth-proof your liners.

Could have also been eaten by silver fish. Hate the little buggers. Over here far more of a problem than moths. If just minor nibbles best to sew them up or they may expand. A neatly sewn job will be hard to niotice.

I had moths destroy 4 cashmere jumpers a couple years ago, they of course ignored the regular wool and went straight for the nice stuff... I now use anti moth paper and cedar blocks in my wardrobe, change them every 6 months.
It's definitely worth doing, cheap insurance.

Funny gross info, the moths don't actually eat the wool, they eat the dead skin and oil and crap stuck within the fiber the wool gets eaten as a side effect. So cleanning all your jumpers at the end of winter before storing them will minimize the chances of getting moths.

I use cotton mesh suit hanging covers for every single jacket to protect them. Not because of moths - because of the cat

Honestly, i have it all... I have cedar blocks and little pouches of natural repellent scatered around, plus the paper taped all around the shelf where i keep my cashmere jumpers. I am not taking any risks anymore.

I have only had moths once, but 4 cashmere jumpers ruined teaches you to go overboard fast!

The annoying thing is that the moth eggs came from a Frye cotton boot bag i got when i bought new boots, so be careful when you get new stuff, make sur eit is clean before you put it in your wardrobe.

No, they have found it doesn't keep them warm, so they avoid it like the plague.

Zhit. You wear Fryes too? I love those fluffy white Frye boot bags! They are so useful for storing iPads!

I use Chemdry Dustmite and allergen spray on anything vintage or old (that is, if it hasn't already been dry cleaned. I'm not the most OCD person but I seem to have allergy to cigarettes, smoke, anything smelling old or Chanel perfume. I've not had moths though that's a good point - never thought about fabric bags in warehouses and cold transport for many months carrying moth eggs in winter etc.

Those Frye bags never end up in the wardrobe anyway (no room). I use them in a work bag to carry spare coins/wallet/mobile phone/iPad and things that I can just whip out at the airport check in a bundle without having to faff around wasting time.

Sorry to hear about your cashmere jumpers x4. Now you know why the rest of us just wear Superdry.

I spray my cloth Waterfront ( alpaca lining ) with a citrus anti moth spray.
