I don't think 80 nicker is too much for a handmade product.

80 nicker, I love it. Many years ago my job took me to the Benelux countries two or three times a month. It never ceased to amaze me how well versed in English Western Europe is, but 80 nicker, I could almost hear that cockney suffix: "Know what I mean, John?" Dirk, thank you for your endorsement.

Personally? I'd go with a buff waistcoat rather than white vest or waistcoat. Or even dove grey.

And a long tie rather than a bow tie in any color. I'd eschew black or white: with the white shirt and black cutaway coat, a little color in the tie could give the needed pop and sizzle. Red or blue, plain or with a very subdued pattern, would be my choice.

After six, full formal /white tie locks you in at every turn, so why not a little subtle but tasteful color in your morning wear?
