IMO:

1. The #1 way to recreate a 1940's/early 50's impression
is studying the "PHOTOGRAPHIC RECORD" NOT the Sears
Catalog!

I would definitely agree with that point.

Sometimes looking at older ads/catalogs leaves me somewhat confused....

I mean, their heads are positively tiny compared to their bodies!
