Just wondering if anyone else out there has done this? I took what appears to be a ammo bag of some sort and added a strap to it to make a messenger type bag:

Indiana Jones uses a Mark VII gas mask bag. No conversions except for changing the cloth strap for a leather one (which was commonly done in the 40s I believe).

so taking a military bag adding a strap to it and using like a messenger bag?

:eek:fftopic: Yes, but a specific type of bag.

They were originally issued to the military in the 1940s to carry gas masks, but used by civilians as well for things such as carrying sandwiches. They're very easy to come by over here.

I would add that many soldiers were found to be carrying German booty such as watches, guns, medals, flags and other personal items taken from dead soldiers. For American soldiers, It got so bad that soldiers were threatened with prosecution etc. if caught.
