Been using Bon Ami as long as I can remember -- best thing there is for scrubbing out sinks and bathtubs.
Cheerwine.....have never had it, but the name touches my heart. So hopeful!
I like the bottle's odd ridges and contours, too.
.
Sounds like just a handful of Southern states sell it, which makes it even more special. Never saw it in New Orleans when I was growing up.
I've read that it's reminiscent of Dr. Pepper, and as a fan of Dr. P., I'm sure I'd love Cheerwine. And hooray for no corn syrup! Is Cheerwine priced like regular soft drinks?
Rats. I spent three months in Charleston a few years back. This was before Cheerwine entered my consciousness, or I'd have looked for it.I bought one in South Carolina when I was on vacation last year
Saw this last weekend...
Does anyone know why that is? Bevvies in glass always seem to taste better to me too. I always assumed it was psychological, for the same reason that I dislike drinking out of plastic glasses/cups.
Those of us skating roller derby probably knows this packaging very well for Gumball toe stops:
Also in the Don Knotts film "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" there is a discussion of the blod stained organ keys, that the stains won't come out. At that point one of the elderly ladies shouts out to confirm the problem with the stains: "And they even tried Bone Ammy!"
I was at the casino & hotel in French Lick, Indiana & it was in one of the shops.
Fading Fast I don't know for sure if they have those particular Hershey's products, but maybe a quick check of the front maze of crap at your local Cracker Barrel restaurant would turn some up. They always seem to have a good stock of candy in vintage packaging. It's usually down eye-level to the kids.
Actually, I was reading in the news here in Japan just a couple of weeks ago that PET plastic soda bottles/mineral water bottles leech harmful chemicals into the beverage, and the government is considering taking action.
