Not really, or maybe so, Ross. The quality levels and descriptions read a bit differently than some of the other MS catalog listings posted in the thread. You'll find some model Stetson's that the quality levels ranged from No.1 Quality, Nutria Quality, 3X, 4X, 5X CB, and 7X CB. I can't remember right off if any of the models went to the 100 or not.

When I first started reading what you had posted, I had to re-read a couple before picking up on the differences. Nice finds, BTW.

Thanks BB, I found it interesting that they pushed 5xCB to 7xCB for whatever reason, but then also kept the 5x too. I also associated 4x with more recent hats from the 60s-70s so I was surprised to see it in this catalog.

I briefly owned a 5X CB and it was an incredible hat, felt wise. Sizing and condition issues caused me to return it. Not a lot of them around but Alan has the finest example I've seen. There may be a few others that I don't recall.

I imagine that the quality reductions were a cost savings measure. When it comes to the 5X CB to the 100, the quality differences become difficult to measure, at least for me.

I've been back several times & saved this Congress, thinking about my BCD. The CD is not blocked quite as rounded but I think the round two dents would give it more of a rounded appearance. What say you?

Wow, I see these prices and it makes me wonder if the Great Depression hadn't hit Colorado much yet. Brother can you spare $8 so I can buy a cheap Stetson??
