Only for this one card, or do you put banknotes or other cards in as well? Otherwise, I should think the card on its own will slip into a front trouser pocket with even greater ease.

Yeah, the card on its own would be more compact, though also much more easily broken too.... I've always carried my travelcard separately as a hangover from the old days of the magnetic strip travels cards which they advised to be kept away from bank cards etc. It's also I think more covenient (and probably more secure) to carry it separately rather than taking out your wallet every time you enter or leave the network. I bought the Jimi when the plastic wallet I was originally issued with my Oystercard died - my Oyster is one of the early ones which has a separate photo ID card (I gather they scan the photo onto the card itself now), so I keep that in there with it, a few business cards and my Starbucks card. According to the paperwork that came with it, I should be able to carry four or five cards in there, as well as cash. Occasionally I keep the odd note in there (keep meaning to make it the home of an "emergency tenner"). It's a great gadget.

For nights out when I don't want to carry more than just a bank card and some cash, I'm thinking of going over to a Jimi wallet:

Thank you for putting this up; I just checked out the company and it seems like a great product idea. My only gripe was the manner in which the cash is stored, and only being able to have 3 bills. Then I saw the X model that has a money clip on the outside, which I think that I might have to pick up.

The outside clip seems to add a lot of flexibility to it, yeah. I like keeping everything internalised in it, myself, but I know what you mean about limited space - more of an issue for you guys, of course, as you have a lot more in the way of paper money. Over here, it's all coins until you get to GBP5.00 (USD10); you can very easily carry the equivalent of USD120 in just three notes. After wearing holes in several wallets years ago, I took to keeping coins in my trouser pocket rather than a wallet. Seems to work well enough.

Intereting to see my old comments comed back up on this thread... Nowadays, I've moved on from the plastic Jimi to a Saddleback ID wallet for my travelcard and tickets, and a leather money-clip wallet from etsy for cash and my bank card. After a false alarm loss with my money wallet, I moved my driving licence to the travelcard wallet so somebody needs to get both wallets to be able to easily spend on my card. Also now carry a small leather coin purse, though most of the time these days I have little cash on me, if any at all. This series of smaller wallets that can be moved around between pockets (ideally when possible I like to keep my travel card in a different pokcet than my cash) and take up far less space than my old bulky one did. Revolutionised my EDC. I'm now in the process of doing the same with my keys.
