Picked up this sterling silver turquoise and coral ring made by Navajo jewelry artist Larry Spencer an antique shop here in Albuquerque last Saturday. I've had the other turquoise ring for a couple of years. Picked it up in San Antonio.

For manly rings, I think of a stereotypical college class ring (I need to have mine resized; my knuckle seems to have grown a little in the last ten years), or Lamont Cranston's girasol ring. Something like that, something on the larger size.

Just my wedding band. Never liked rings that much, never could wear any while I was flying.

Also, the horror story my dad told me about almost losing his finger when he got his wedding band caught climbing off an H-19 scared me straight. This was back in the day, when safety was almost non-existent.

Rings definitely shouldn't be worn all the time. I remember taking a first aid class and watching an educational video that showed the outcomes of workplace accidents, including wearing rings while operating machinery.

When I work......no ring at all for the reasons stated by others above. When I am suited up, I have a gold Lions Club Past Club President or District Governor ring I wear (I am both). I also have a early 1900's gold signet pinkie ring. I occasionally wear a wedding band but it now only fits on my small finger....
For weekend casual I have some awesome custom HEAVY (25 grams and up) silver rings and a few made from coins. I also have some true antique silver as well.....
Cheers,
M
PS....here are a few...

How do you think look rings that real men wear? I saw many examples on different powerful figures, but still cannot come up with the strong concept of what “a men ring” is. Any thoughts on the subject are very welcomed. Also do not hesitate to show what you are wearing.
Obviously everyone chooses the accessories that fit him the best. But what do you think in general? What kind of rings highlights the manliness?

If I'm wearing yellow gold, I wear my Grandfather's pinkie ring with 3 garnets set into little inset cut asterisks, my gold wedding band, and sometimes my signet ring with the family sigil (3 antlers) carved into a flat faced blood stone (that's only for super formal to be honest), and rarely worn. If I'm wearing silver; I have a TON of rings, including some white gold pieces from the 1920s and 30s; to whit: Always my Grandfather's Art Deco ring finger ring on my right hand, my jumbo wide and thick plain white gold band ring for my wedding ring on my left hand, and one of several pinkie rings depending upon my wardrobe at any given moment; if casual; usually my large green turquoise and silver pinkie ring that one of my Navajo great aunts made, or sometimes a small gypsy hoop with a tiny cabochon cut amethyst, or more typically one of two Art Deco pinkie rings; a white gold with cushion cut Saphire in a rectangular faced setting, or a rhodium plated sterling piece of much more delicate workmanship also Art Deco, but with a deep honey colored citrine, also in a faceted cushion cut. I have a ton of elaborate and really interesting rings besides though, as I collect them, but those are honestly the only one's that get much wear on the daily or semi-daily......I agree with the other gents who've said, wear what you like. I would however say perhaps avoid wearing rings on your middle finger. I wear my pinkie rings on my right pinkie. Currently looking for a nice vintage/antique setting for a concavely cut deep green tourmaline that I acquired a few years back. I'm thinking platinum or white gold, Art Deco style.

Since I'm not married and had to sale my class ring for scrap years ago, I only wear a (silver) monogrammed pinky ring.

I have my dad's Masonic ring that he wore for 35 yrs. It has a large center diamond & 8 smaller diamonds on the "G". I've just started looking around for ideas to use the diamonds in a man's ring other than a typical diamond cluster or wedding band. Haven't seen anything interesting.

I only wear a plain gold wedding ring when I attend functions or family get togethers. Otherwise, on a personal level, I don't like wearing finger jewellery. I don't have a problem with others wearing them, however.

I do have three little rings that I bought some years ago to wear on my little finger but I never did in the end because they were a little tight. They are Roman rings, two with stones that have been replaced (one with amber) and one with a Roman design on it. The photo shows the three rings, though I never wore all three at once!

I also have my fathers' vintage US Army in Germany ring which he wore in the 1960s. It is silver and has a red glass 'stone'. It has the 7th Army motto 'Seven Steps to Hell' engraved on it. It is too big for me to wear, both in actual size and finger dimension.

I, too, have my dad's Masonic ring. It's very basic, no jewels or heavy gold work -- he received it when he became a Master Mason in 1944 or so. The ring fits me quite well, but I never wear it because i am not a Mason. How inappropriate would it be for me to wear this on occasion?

I'm not a lodge member either but I don't think wearing it would be received very well by those who are.

I assume you'd get a lot of funny handshakes and people being ticked off they're not returned. That said, I'm sure there are more dangerous groups to annoy by wearing their regalia unearned. ;)
