I have always wanted one of these jackets. It differs from the M445a version by the absence of the longer buttoned waistband, has diamond arm patches and full length zip that acts as a collar closure. It is very similar in shape cut and style to the Anj4. Real McCoy's make superb sheepskins and this one has to be one of the very best. It has already become my favourite as it is so stylish and practical, with the pockets and tailored fit. It's easily better than any of my B-3's. The collar zip is difficult to zip right up to the top but that is not a problem for me. I wonder if like me, wearers in WW2 needed assistance with fastening very tight collar buttons and straps ? The wool has that perfect off white/cream colour that is so much better than white but still has a clean look.

That's a beauty John! You really have some great cold weather flight jackets. Does that M-445 have a throat strap closure or does it zip all the way up to close the throat? From your pictures, it looks like it zips all the way but I'm curious.

Thanks,

Noel

Hi Noel, no throat latch but a continuous zip right to the top. It is very difficult to zip right up as there is a change of direction where the throat and chin meet.

Wow John!

Another stunning jacket. I too, have always wanted one of these beauties. I love the diamond cut on the arms...

Come into an inheritance recently? ;-)
