It's be up for a Calendar - But I don't think I'm in the Same area as all of you - So taking photos would be a little difficult.

Well, there are certainly a number of capable photographers here in the Lounge scattered about the states, perhaps each can work with some of the local and regional dames. A calendar with lots of different looks and styles would be more interesting and more representative of the Fedora Lounge lot. Assuming, of course, we can gather up a gaggle of Fedora dishy dames.

ITG, The Cafepress idea is great! Cheap, too.
I haven't seen their calendars first hand, but I do know the clothing, mugs and posters are really good quality.

carpecaligo, Where are you at? It might help to browse a site like retrokitten.com or modelmayhem.com and scout out photographers that way. A lot of them do a trade called time for prints-- both parties get prints for their portfolios. You'd want to mention this project, you'd probably get more feedback that way.

I think Old Hollywood Glamour would be a great theme!
I myself am tiring of the scantily-clad cheesecake, but then again I've been doing that for quite a while!

As much as I love the classic Hollywood glamour look, I don't believe that it will have a wide enough appeal no matter how gorgeous the dames. The wartime pinup would likely be more attractive to the retro and non-retro types, alike. The shots can be kept classy and tasteful, and, of course, fun.

I'm in Baltimore now, and I stay in DC during the school year.
I just got my headshots done and that cost me more than I even want to spend on photos again - But If this all pans out to a real deal, I'm sure I can work something out.
(PS. - I'd love to be October!)

ITG-- Good point, I guess not.
I guess if you can recruit someone to do it for you (especially helping with poses!(, with a decent backdrop and good lighting, you can pull it off with a digital camera or whatever. I did this for years, Photoshop also helps! :)

Carpecaligo--
I know there are a few vintage photographers in Baltimore, I just can't remember their names off the top of my head. I wouldn't shell out any money, just see if you can do the TFP thing I mentioned, or even go the route I mentioned to ITG.

That's a relief! Having a professional do it might make some gals shy away.

Hey ITG-
I have a friend trying to build his portfolio. He'd be up for it and it's definitely up his alley.I'm a hairstylist and love to direct poses (I posed the main pic and did hair and makeup) so you'd get me out of the deal too.
You can see his work here:

Let me know what you think of his stuff and if you're interested.
