Ditto! Love them!
I bought my wool felt at Jo Ann Fabrics and ran it through the washer and dryer. This shrinks it and makes it thicker
and gives it a slight nubby texture. http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/...search&flag=true&PRODID=xprd233517#pro_colors It looks like they only have it in white right now, but I've dyed wool felt before successfully.
If you find felt with some percentage of wool you can try shrinking it.
Here is view C done in siuting fabric
Does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive source of wool felt (as opposed to the horrid synthetic stuff I used) in the UK?
Here is mine, not finished yet, the buckram is still pinned, but the back:
and from the side.
I'm just starting out with this pattern. Can anyone advise me - when it says 'remnant' for the oval pattern piece at the start of the instructions - what does this mean? Any material at all, or is it all made of felt (as it looks in the pictures)?
I thought, it's only 4 pieces, how hard can it be? But I can't get my head around this pattern at all!
It is indeed a mental puzzle - a puzzle that's driving me mental!
I think the problem lies in the picture on the pattern packet. I can see the remnant piece clearly in your pics, but it's not obvious at all on the packet picture.
