AND NOW THE ‘MAD MEN’ NAIL POLISH: Janie Bryant must barely have time to take a breath these days. On top of working on the television show that’s all the rage, a book and a clothing collection for QVC, the “Mad Men” costume designer has partnered with Huntington Beach, Calif.-based nail polish brand Nailtini on four limited edition nail lacquers for fall. Bryant said she was inspired by fabrics used in cocktail dresses during the “Mad Men” era — velvets, satins and lamés — when creating the colors, which are a brown, gold, platinum and iridescent shade called Bourbon Satin, French 75, Deauville and Stinger, respectively. Michelle Toma Olson, founder of Nailtini, is hopeful Bryant will team up with Nailtini on a spring collection as well, but well before then the $14 fall polishes will hit CVS’ Beauty 360 and Duane Reade’s Look stores.

The fashion obsession with Mad Men has me a bit concerned because now we have a lot of trendy folk trying to imitate a vintage style and doing it very poorly (hats *I will not call them fedoras* from Target and the like.) I hope that this is a short lived fad so that I cannot be told that I am copying Mad Men.

I like the potential and hope it evolves into something better but know exactly what you mean. I know most who see my hat and thin tie think I'm imitating the show which is only partly true.

Just came back from watching "Cats and Dogs II" with my daughter. The actress who plays Sally had a small part in it.

So, Tomasso, adjusted for inflation... And did Lane *tip* Don? "Here's $30." So what will their relationship be now? Lane and Don, bachelor duo? Yikes!

Have to say I love that Jared Harris is getting more air time (although some of that was just weird... the steak?? lol ) I loved him so in The Riches (I'm still pining hard for that show, so thank goodness Mad Men helps ease the pain...).

Yes, that would be interesting if Lane replaced Sterling as Don's drinking buddy.

Watching Don overfill the flask was funny. Their cup runneth over.
Yes, the steak was odd. Seems that Lane spends so much time containing himself, he really explodes when he loosens his tie.

A great episode.

I loved the flower mix up... first Joan and Lane are at each others throats... then they turn on Cindy in perfect timing. I was worried there wouldn't be any more jokes like that in this season.

Anna, that's awful, she's such a good anchor for Don.

I know. Still, $220 won't bring a high quality escort these days...Or, so I've heard....

Hmm, just wondering, was pricing ever mentioned in Butterfield8 ?

In the first season, Don made a comment about Pete's $14 haircut. I remember thinking that mustve be a really high price back in 1960.

Yes, with Anna presumably exiting soon, that seems to be the last (personal) tie holding Don down aside from his children. Or will it open a whole can o' worms as he straddles being Dick and Don both in dealing with her death? This will get very interesting indeed...

And will "drunk Lane" be a recurring character? 'Cause, if so, what on earth will happen to the new company?? He's the responsible one!

Anna's family looks like a can of worms for Don.

Now would bea great time for Don to sell the house. Cash out from the Ad biz. Scoop up the kids & disappear into California as Dick Whitman.

I hear ya!
Way back, when "Urban Cowboy" came out, my hubby thought he'd blow a gasket...he always dressed like a cowboy cause he were one, if only part time, but the cost of cowboy clothing skyrocketed and it was very hard for a workin' stiff with a family to even buy a pair of wranglers!!

I have been having a hard time finding good vintage buys (today being the exception!) and todays rare stroll through the mall had alot of "Mad Men comments from young people...HELLO??? NO!! Try early 50's!!!
I hate the mall.
Shoot, even my hubby knows theres a bit of a difference!!
