I thought we were discussing Winchester colors as well.Keeping in mind that pouncing/stiffener will vary among makers the feel is very smooth.I've tried to capture the depth of the rust color in different light without much success.

I got a good idea of the color from the pic. Glad yours is smooth. Looking fwd to seeing some color samples.

the pics show the hat a bit lighter than it actually is ... the felt is Whiskey (beaver) and the ribbon is sort of a Copper

Great! I can only imagine... he just sent me this pic. Winchester rabbit in "rust." Hes sez it's a bit darker and more reddish then the pic suggest. I'm considering it.

and he is a blast to work with.... a true artist.... and super honest and upfront.
also since we are the same size tell him to use the block he used on my whiskey.
Pretty sure mine is the first Gannon off this block.
The dude is awesome .... and these early hats will be legendary one day when he has a 6 month waiting list and charges $500 per hat

I've had a few Esty conversations with him and I agree that he's an absolute pleasure to work with and for sure about that block. Im glad you told me earlier about it. It was just another good reason for me to reach out to him.

Well, just ordered my first Gannon, and anything, anything that you can say about Michael wont get close to the real guy, a true gentleman, great to deal with.

I went for a whippet style hat in silvermist.

Wide contrasting ribbon...bound edge.

Now lets wait and see Michael work his magic.

Well..... Michael has outdone himself once again.
This hat is everything he and I talked about when designing it.

The beaver felt is soft and beautifully finished.
Impeccably executed bound edge and bow.
Fantastic and soft roan leather sweat .
awesome liner and perfect fit.

Couldn't possibly be more happy.

WOW! Well done Moon and Michael.

The ribbon knot is cool and the whiskey felt is better off for the copper hued ribbon. Brim detail appears well executed. Sweat and interior is certainly wearable and is even "showable." Take the hat off and tip it towards the person seating you at the resturaunt and "all is good" with the world.
