So i had a chance to visit Stuart in NY and grab my LW LT.
Now back home and it's Like +30c, so kinda can't make proper fit pics. But i will do in upcoming weeks, also with more detailed shots of the jacket! Oh and there is sooo much great small details everywhere. Im in love haha =)
So first things first i want to challenge few misconceptions regarding LostWorlds:
1. My communication with Stuart was super fast, very polite, comfortable and i mean probably the best experience regarding buying smth via internet.
Point is i trusted, i respected and i didn't asked for "shoulder to shoulder" measurement =)
I actually had a chance to ask about shoulder measurement a fellow lounge member, but it was more confusing actually. So in short- just trust Stuart and everything will be fine. At least in my case it was!
2. The LW 4oz HH is by faaar not plastic! it's actually more alive than mccoys shinki to my liking. I wore jacket for a day in NYC (a looong day with a lot of adventures!) and wore it on the plane, and it already shows some grain, and actually some sights of wear across the zipper. But yes, its heavy and unkillable and will last 100 years and very hardcore. At the same time very comfortable and it just feels right. Tried his 3oz hh in the studio, and its also very cool! Probably an option for my next jacket (i'm really torn between FW and LW for my next one now).
So about the jacket:
1. The build quality is top. Better than mccoys and gw to my liking. Cant judge FW, as only saw those jackets, but never owned.
2. Leather - see above, very high quality, i like it, exact what i was aiming for (everyday jacket to beat the hell out of it, but preferably to last as long as possible).
Total oposite to all this "fast fading teacore handdyed bullshit" modern Japanese market developed to amuse masses after they found themselves in decline.
3. Design - it's just one of the best designs on the market i believe, as when you look at pockets, deerskin sleeves lining, zips placement, belt placement, one-piece back, epaulettes made like on monarch a-2 (covering and protecting the main seam), leather lined belt area - to protect lining from scratching, snaps placement- it's all just makes so much sense! Like this jacket really is made for living and every single detail and feature is actually usable even in modern world day-to-day living.
4. Fit and pattern.
Size seems to me true to size. I'm 42 in RM, FW and Rainbow Country, took 44 in this one as i wanted roomy fit to layer stuff, and i will probably gain some weight in upcoming year. Oh and also i'm tired of all this skin-tight jackets i had and sold, i made sleeves a bit shorten as a custom option, as im not riding and in general i prefer shorter sleeves. But even with this they are a bit long to my liking right now, but it think they will settle with some wear and time investment.
But just listen to Stuart when choosing size- this process was very helpful for me.
The pattern itself feels good and clever - nothing too tight or too large or too short.
And i still can move my hands with total freedom almost. And can button and close a collar with no issues at all.
4. Furniture and lining - i took crown zips as a custom option, they are heavy and big, but i decided it's good to pair them with 4oz HH. Works good. No issues with snaps. All well made and placed well. Lining is NOS brown sateen. Great color and feel. Seems durable and will last.
Overall amazing jacket. Definitely an endgame for me!
I will make proper fit and detail pics soon, when weather will allow.
