Thanks to everyone for the feedback. It is definitely making me lean toward keeping it. A few fairly minor things I am not wild about -- the slick lining, the sort of dressy buckles on the side, but yeah overall it's a beauty.

If I don't keep this, then I think I am switching back to collared jackets, and thinking of an Aero 1930s halfbelt, with added zip sleeves and a full action back...

I think not, but I got mine from a retailer who said I could return it if it wasn't right.

I absolutely love the configuration of this jacket. It's perfect, especially for riding. I think the sleeves with wrinkle up a bit and hit a good mark as you wear it in. That will take some doing with a LW. Perhaps I'm biased but I love this pattern. I have a very similar jacket from another maker and it's really an all time fav.

I just love this pattern! I couldn't quite get the funds together but I did find another one that I'm quite pleased with. To me the chest pocket looks so cool and is very easy to access. I find most chest pockets to be nothing more than ornamental. Especially while on a moving two wheeled machine.

The Lost Worlds jacket has arrived. Fit seems pretty good to me, albeit just a bit tight around my recently expanded 51-year-old gut. It may well be a keeper, though I am just a bit hesitant about the style. I am old guy, riding an old-guy style motorbike (Royal Enfield), and I wonder if I should leave the cafe racer with slightly fancy pocket to the youngsters. Wonder if it comes off as trying too hard. And I have to admit that the 70s rocker in me gets a slight whiff of 80s George Michael style off of the vertical zipper. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

Hey, awesome jacket, looks great on you! I have this same jacket, picked it up a few years ago and have put lots of road miles on them, majority of it while riding a Royal Enfield too! Have done several week-plus-long road trips wearing this jacket with an armoured shirt underneath (Bohn and Knox), and the combination have worked great. Took a few spills on dirt roads and came up with no bumps or bruises, and only a few scuffs on the jacket. It's a tough mofo, this one! PLEASE KEEP THE JACKET!!!

Back then the road ended here, the highland region of Merak, far eastern Bhutan. Now there's a dirt road till these yak-herder nomad's village further up in the mountain.

... and for good measure, here's one more pic - me in my LW Buco Rider and alongside Enfield bikes at the end of the dirt track in Merak, eastern Bhutan. From here on, it's mules or hiking by foot. I think I've posted this pic before somewhere. Maybe I should send these pics over to Stuart at LW as well

BTW, that huge chest pocket works very well to stuff my phone, documents (travel permits) and what not in there! I like how it looks too, definitely a different take than my other cafe racer jackets. Of course, it's weight and heft means it's not an everyday jacket during warmer months, but it's a great option for riding in cooler months, atleast for me.

Anyway, I won't ask you all to solve my existential identity crisis in relation to style, but feel free to weigh in on them, as well of course on fit, etc.

You shouldn't even think about it. This is a rather tame style to begin with and the only vibe that this jacket has is one of a proper motorcycle jacket. The D-pocket only gives it a utilitarian look which is what you would want from MC jacket. I don't think it's pretentious even in the least bit. Less than with just two chest pockets nobody ever has used, once.

Young people will wear what the fashion industry dictates and sure, right now the CR's seem to be in style just like the lancer front was the year before and God knows what is to follow but that's no reason you shouldn't enjoy wearing the style you like. Your jacket is timeless, cool, classy and most importantly serves a purpose. It looks as good on you or better than on anyone else and to let go of it just 'cause right now you see some kids jumping around in PVC CR's in some music video, would be a crime.

Thanks Grayland, it's an SB vintage racer. Was on their sale page for a very reasonable figure and I couldn't resist it. It was marked a 40" but the numbers were closer to a 44" so...I pounced!

Hot damn. That's some riding. I am pretty much only a city rider, and my Classic 500 is very jealous of your Bullet! (And yes, the jacket looks great with some wear.) Is this part of the official RE Himalayan ride that they do every year?

And it's a good thing you did! I've said it before, but I always liked this one and they oughta have replaced the standard CR model with it straight away. It's fantastic and fits you 11/10!
