This is the thread for Los Angeles Sportogs from 1950s or earlier. Members have often been curious about this little-known brand, so here it is.
LA Sportogs or LASC is pre-war due to their usage of Talon sunrise zippers. They were one of the two makers (the other being CSC) for Montgomery Ward in late 1930s through 1940s. Their signature is the slanted-sleeve construction. They seemingly have ceased to exist post-1950s.
They appear to have made a lot of suede jackets, more so than other makers. Their “world famous Sun Suedes” were “custom tailored in California.”
Their horsehide / pony hide tag is obvious by the ribbon style in a loop, hanging below the MW tag. Sometimes their signature cursive-font hide tag is not hanging like a ribbon:

1946 ad, note goat jacket for $5 in 1946, which is $87 in 2025 after factoring in inflation (a lot cheaper than its Sears Hercules peer):

1948 LA Sportogs ad for Esquire magazine, note how expensive these jackets were ($80-150 in 1948, which converts to $1k-2k in 2025):
