Looking to meet up with Eastman or Aero owners in S.F. so I may try your jacket and buy you a coffee

Hey there,

I remember I did a ton of research on the Schott 659 Horsehide jacket. Pics/forums/measurements/etc. Was excited to decide that was going to be my forever jacket....went into a store and tried it and it just did not do it for me. Thank goodness San Francisco has a Schott store.

Now I am looking at Aero's and Eastman's. Love the look and fixtures they use. But there is no where for me to try it on. Really don't want to send measurements to Aero/Eastman and pray it works out for me. I am hoping to meet up (I will go to wherever is easy for you) with someone who has any of the following: Aero 1930/50s Halfbelt, Aero Highwayman, and the Eastman Calfornian.

I am a US 38/40. I like the more form fitting/snug fit vs. boxy. I like jackets with a pit to pit of 22" give or take .5" (measurements taken off a Rick Owens Jacket that I own)

Would love to try yours on (I will shower and be sweat free: ) and hear your thoughts while we sip on some coffee. Thank you!

Take a trip on the BART out to Standard and Strange! They now stock Eastman as well as Real McCoys. I did and had a lot of fun. Great service and boots too!

Don’t forget that Carrie & the crew at Thurston Bros (@Carrie @ Thurston Bros. ) will be able to provide you with a fit jacket to remove any concerns.
I can highly recommend them.

Carrie is great. I spoke to her and the way they go about it is awesome...BUT, see my story in the OP. I was ready to pull the trigger, but once they send you a fit jacket, then you are committed to buying one. I'm sure it will be fine, but the "what if" factor still dissuades me to move fwd. I am very particular about my fits and if I am dropping over $1100 on a jacket, I better LOVE it because LIKING it is not an option at this price point. So I just want to make sure.

Agree with fit jacket sentiments. It’s MUCH better than nothing, but not a perfect set up. I would love to be able to walk into a store and compare a few models and go back and forth on sizes for an hour. Anyone have thoughts as to why some of these brands don’t have more stockists in major cities (i suppose in Aeros case it is they are made to order..? Perhaos the volume would diminish quality.)
