Hi Guys,
I'm having a frustrating time trying to find a good usable size 46 jacket. I'd be grateful to hear from anyone that can help. Thanks, Duncan

Hi Duncan

Welcome on board. Unless you are very lucky you will have to look at the USA sales side. All of mine were purchased from the US. But keep an eye on the classified section on here and you might strike lucky and get an UK seller. Remember the G1s tend to run small in most cases so will need a 48. I have a 38" which i will put up for sale due to that fact. I realized that i needed a 40" . Only downside of getting from the US is the cost of the postage and HMG get their blood money in customs charges and these are not small! Hope this helps.

One other word of “warning” om shipping from the US as I discovered to my literal cost is that HMRC charge VAT on the value of the item AND the shipping cost which is pure daylight robbery... Good luck on the G1, I am also looking for one but in a different size; will let you know if I see one in a 46/48.

I sent a pair of my old Danner boots for repair andHMCR charged me both vat and import duty on my own boots! I queried it and of course they are right! Daylight robbery!

Hi Ed, have you looked at AVI LTHR's 55J14 G-1? I did a review here a while back... Its a repro of an original 55J14, and not a bad one at that... They have a 46, you could check with them and compare measurements with your A-2... Free postage from EU... You could get a new jacket for the price of importing an old one from the US... http://www.avilthr.com/product/G1-flight-jacket/

Yes, I paid almost 100% on a leather patch from the US. A small envelop and it cost me almost £20! Never again.
