On the 1930s/Hawaiian tip, I'd mention NYC's the Moonlighters. They're a lot of fun.

From what I have heard Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks play in NYC a lot.

Every Monday and Tuesday night at Sofia's at the Hotel Edison in midtown. C'mon down, Lizzie!

The 2 Man Gentlemen Band. They do a mix of old bluegrass, ragtime and dixieland with some pretty goofy lyrics. Great!

I'm not as familiar with the others groups catalogs, but SNZ has many songs that are dead on authentic, while others just have the retro feel. They dabble in a lot of different styles so they are really kind of hard to pin down. If they were close to anything in particular it would have to have be a gypsy swing style like Django Reinhardt, but often had a klezmer feel to their music too. Even though they were lumped together with those other guys from the 90's they where never trying to be a big band/swing band at all. Probably their biggest hit "Hell" was the closest to a big band sound as they ever got, and I think it kind of labeled them because of it.

Just came across these guys by accident. Nice mix of Gypsy and Western Swing.

John Jorgenson does nice Django Reinhardt type music.

The Hot Club of Cowtown and Asleep at the Wheel for Texas Swing.

Always liked Bog Bad Voodoo Daddy, they sounded real good. Haven't listened to them in a while, but thought they played pretty good swing.

In New England, a fantastic swing band is the Compaq Big Band. The band is just about all that remains of Compaq after being destroyed by HP - actually, i don't think they are associated with the company at all these days. We've been to a few of their events, mainly when a friend of ours used to sing with them.

Came across this thread and realized I've got some listening to do. Thanks, guys.

Also thought I would contribute a little bit. I shouldn't have to tell you who inspired this modern group (right down to the different hair colors, haha). Their music can have a more modern sound to it than some of you might like (different instruments and usually sung faster than the original pieces), but I appreciate their vintage aesthetic and style... it also doesn't hurt that they're quite pretty.
