lining for linen waistcoat

What would be the preferred lining material for a summer, linen waistcoat. I have some cloth that I was planning on sending out to have a waistcoat made from, and it is a bit light to go un-lined.

i find that modern bemberg / cupro linings don't breathe very well for summer garments. i would go with a thin, loosely woven cotton.

Try linen self-lined - it's durable, light and breathes.

Linen self lined = sounds good

Me, i'd suggest muslin = cotton loose weave and it's inexpensive

Thanks! I was leaning towards cotton, but wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking anything.

If the linen cloth I have was a bit thicker, I would consider un-lined. But it is thin enough that I think a lining is called for - especially to reduce wear over my suspender fittings in the back.
