I have 3 watches being serviced right now and I will take pictures once I pick them up but one of them is this Elgin Deluxe:

I love to catch cheap watches from the 20-40s that don't exceed the 100€ price. It gets tricky but it's worth it. It's really easy to get nice watches for a lot of money, I don't enjoy that, for me the hunt for that great watch for cheap it's what I enjoy the most.

I also have a Timor watch marked with the A.T.P. (Army Temporary Pattern) engraving from WW2 that we'll see if can get repaired.

Just this past year, after reading a William Gibson novel in which one of the characters collects and repairs vintage watches, I slowly began to get drawn into the world of watches. What really interest me are unusual items, and as I've been a big fan of Russian Constructivism for years, I've been scanning hundreds of pages on ebay of Russian watches. It really surprises me to find almost nothing, as the great majority of the pieces (some of them very nice) are simply based on Swiss designs. So I was wondering if any of the collectors here might be able to afford me any information about this. It seems odd to me that a school of design as popular and as widely used as that one was in the USSR would have shown up so rarely in something so utilitarian as a watch. Any ideas?

Beautiful. If you ever have the back off, take note of the movement serial number. The serial number will tell you its age.

I polished the case myself, but I'm leaving the mechanics to the watchmaker. Does anyone know what that style of cartouche is, in the middle of the case? A friend was asking. I was told once, but I forgot.
