Lemon chamois gloves

These are for morning dress (especially when you wear a buff coloured waistcoat). I got them from Chester Jefferies, special order for £48. Cheaper than Pickett's (£126-150) and Budd's (£90 machine-made).

I have been on the hunt for some yellow chamois gloves for a long while once I learnt that they were in fact the gloves commonly found in Esquire and Apparel Arts illustrations. They seem to look great with everything, not just morningwear.

Indeed. I have never before heard that they were restricted to wear with morning dress...

Another look I admire without wanting to emulate. I get the gloves with morning wear but why on earth wear them with a lounge suit? Is this an archaic 'motoring' look? The effect is somewhat sinister like he's enjoying a pipe after some 'wet work'. Is this 'Mack-the-Knife'?

This is Esquire magazine (or Apparel Arts Quarterly) doing what it was meant to do: convince menswear consumers to buy something that they didn't even know they 'needed'.

Thanks for posting that link. Some of those styles are rather tempting. Let's hope I remember to have another look in the autumn.
