I grew up in Iowa and do recall the Floppy show, but I was in high school and college then, so did not watch it, even though a couple of Drake drama majors were cast on the show, a Miss Patty and a Miss Connie, I believe.
I don't recall the name of the late night horror show host, a guy who played a mad scientist and had an assistant named, what else?, Igor. They were really bad, but so were the movies.
Some of the creature features were so bad, my brother and I used to turn down the sound and invent our own dialogue.
My favorite host was Elvira.
