What is this from?
The sculpture in the background - that is a piece done by Richard McDermott Miller in the 1970's. The subject is his granddaughter, who is a friend of mine. It sits in her living room now... and no other copy exists. So this is a very intriguing mystery indeed!

It appears that the picture you are questioning may be from a shoot done by photographer Randall Slavin. Here is another photo

Wow. That first one of Sherilyn Fenn is one of my favorites.
Thanks again Cherry Lips!
You're welcome, Clay!
I "party smoke" (exceptions to the rule are sometimes brought on by my nerves). One Saturday when I was standing outside a club smoking (in fur collar and weekend glamour galore), a young man walked up to me and said, "Please keep smoking!". Hahaha

The e-cigs are strange in the fact that it isn't an object that is technically on fire, it is more of like smoking an iced hookah that doesn't smell at all. It is great if you don't want the smell or strong taste of a tobacco cigarette.

Oh another note I just got a cigarette holder and am wondering which is the correct way to hold it as to not look like a complete ninny.

Mystery solved.
Mr. Miller, the artist, sometimes rented his studio out for fashion shoots. It was a popular place for it as it was a very intriguing space. I get this information from the artist's assistant - Mr. Miller passed away.

Going off topic slightly :eek:fftopic: or sideways,

I once asked a lady who was a smoker and also a beautician as it happens who was talking about how bad smoking was for the skin etc...

if she thought that smoking made some one look more attractive?
after a little thought she replayed with....

No! but think it make people look more confident and suited some people more than others .

I must say I never worked that out!:)

I think it either looks sexy classy (i.e. cigarette holder or formal dress), or sexy trashy (pouty lips and chipped nail polish), but there isn't much middle ground. A woman lighting up outside of an office on a windy day, or your average college blonde outside a sportsbar with her marlboro ultralights doesn't really do much of anything for me either way. To be honest, as a former habitual (and now rare) smoker I don't really even notice it.
