Hi..

Okay, so i was about to pull the trigger on an Alpha Ind. L2B jacket, the sage green version, when they tell me they have discontinued that model.. Grrr..

I was wondering who else sells a quality version besides Buzz Rickson.. I already own a Rickson L2A and I really like it, but they are expensive... I will go that route if I have to though.. For the record I have looked at The Cockpit, Rothco, Flight Jacket.com, but I can't seem to find any...

Any thoughts.. thanks.. Kent

Yes, Bronson and Bob Dong... Great quality, relatively authentic detailing and very reasonable prices. Ebay has them.

Yes, Bronson and Bob Dong, I second that. Nothing can beat them at the moment.

There is another option, I remember Diamond Dave also make the L2A and L2B to a very authentic level, but at a price. Or if you have come across a shop called the US Country Store (MIMURA YOKO) in Taiwan, they used to make some very interesting L2 variations as well.

AFAIK, only BR is making repros with the correct nylon weight/weave/color.
This may or may not be important to you.

Diamond Dave I would steer well clear of. His L-2 repros are, by his own admission, 'cut to give a more modern fit' whilst also claiming to be '100% accurate reproductions'. Clearly these two statements can not be true; they are mutually exclusive.

Well, that will depends on which contract of L-2B that you want. If you want MIL-J-7448A, then you can't beat BR. But the later versions also have huge variations in terms of materials and cuttings, it is difficult to say which one is the most authentic. I guess if Kent was looking for the Alpha L-2B (I presume from the Vintage series), he probably doesn't require it to be dead accurate.

To be honest I thought Alpha did a pretty good job on their MA1’s & B15C, but I did not study them that closely.. So Bronson makes a good Mil Spec L2B then..??

Their long discontinued Replica series was good. Then there was the Vintage series (I have the B-15) which was ok. The Bronson offering is certainly better than most non-Japanese replica. We always suspect that Bronson based their jackets on BR as well as RMC jackets.

Just checked out the Bronson website and wow some good stuff for low prices. Nice to see proper measurement charts.

Does anyone know what shipping service Bronson uses?

Yeah, Bronson and Bob Dong are awesome value for money. They seem to have all the right features. I don't know how sizing and fit works out though. Just looking at photos, you'd have to be a real nylon jacket nerd to call them out as not BR.
