Got the Opinel No.8 Inox with walnutwood handle, today.
I had to sharpen this one on my water stone, too. Now it´s 4/5 sharp, like my other.

But yeah, I think, I get the point with the classic Opinel. They just got this "sympathic" thing, when in your hands.

My wife is an executive chef and I until recently had a 12 year run as a weekly columnist writing about food and cooking. Here are a few of our knives. I can tell you that expensive doesn't always mean quality. There's a Kramer here we never use and I'm sorry I fell for the cool Almazan cleaver/knife marketing. The blue handled Misen knife arrived quite dull and is hard to sharpen. Amand's go-to is that purple handled cheap one.
