I've been looking for a thread to add my picture to but couldn't find one.


Here's my 1939 Seeburg Symphonla Classic.

It plays 78RPM, 20 of them but can only play one side.

It took me 4 years to restore (I need to complete a couple of little bits when I get around to it).

Anyone else got a Jukebox?

I also started restoring a 1958 Rockola.... but a new job stopped me halfway through.

If I could I'd sell her, but I guess I'll have to wait until I retire in order to finish her.

Can anyone help me.

I'm after a piece of Big Band music to buy for my JB.

It featured in a scene from Peter Kaye's Phoenix Nights, he invites a small... Big Band to play in his club, when his side kick Jerry thinks he is ill.

Anyone know what this piece of music is called.... everyone knows it but do they know the name?

I LOVE old juke boxes, the older the better, especially those elaborate old Wurlitzers. But it's an expensive hobby. I would love some day to own just one classic juke box.

That's Opus Number 1, originally by Tommy Dorsey. That doesn't sound like the original version, but it'll do.

I'd be interested in knowing if anyone else has a JB.
I sarted restoring some old Radios too.... but took a new job as I mentioned.... so they're still in pieces in my loft.

I was too busy indulging myself posting the music.... your post didn't fully register in my brain (this glass of Rioja didn't help).

If I ever make it to be rich I'd buy an AMI I


Phil Gibson sells 78s at Jukebox Madness mate.

Get on his emailing list, he'll let you know what he's got new in every 6 months or so.
Not many bargains but some good stuff, he's in the UK.

Definitely an L & H fan, especially Stan. I've been on the SOD mailing list for ages, never made it down. Their meetings are at the Players Club, on Gramercy Park, in Manhattan, one of the coolest spots in North America.

Yup, dhermann1, you called it.... Lee, you've got a good ear: T.D.'s "Opus #1" is My alltime #1 favorite big band swing song. (After over 20 years of big band listening, since my granddad gave me his 78s in elementary school.) Luckily, not hard to find on 78.

Norman, you've got an AMI A; I distinctly remember another lounger a few years back became the proud owner of an AMI model B...

I've got two jukes, both 78rpm: a not-yet-fully-restored 1949 AMI model C (plays & sounds great, but not yet finished)

...and a fully working 1952 Rock-Ola Fireball 120 (the last model Rock-Ola offered a 78 rpm option on, with 120 selections on 60 discs): The amp is a MONSTER, incredible thundering bass, really impresses visitors (although they tend to favor the later stuff -- Ray Charles, B.B. King, and all the blues songs I've got in there about drinkin' scotch, bourbon, beer, and bad, bad whiskey... even got a James Brown 78 in there from 1958):

Of course, I'd trade em both in half a heartbeat for the juke I've always wanted most, the 1946 Wurlitzer 1015... Someday (maybe)...

We bought a 1952 Seeburg 100-C Jukebox last year. It works, but has a few things that still need fixing. This is what they refer to as the Happy Days jukebox because you see it in the opening and closing credits of the show. We took out all of the '70s junk that was in there and put in '50s and '60s 45s.

Twice a year, we attend the Jukebox and Slot Machine Convention in St. Charles, IL. Lots of different jukeboxes there.
