Yes! The fit reminds me very much of my long gone Vanson derby!

Reminded me a lot of the Vanson Commando when I tried one on at the shop. It really does pair some of the best details of classic cross zips with a clean modern fit.

You more than likely did see this one as it’s one of their “one offs”, not a custom build. Mine doesn’t have the magnetic pocket closure but that’s a really brilliant idea!

Just one observation: Jackets that look this great have a tendency to run pretty slim. This one looks as it would hug the lower end of your ribcage pretty tightly. I have the same issue with two or three of my jackets, and I don´t mind it very much. Just means, if you pass izt on it might just be a tad small on me.... I´d still give it a go if JMax passes...

Can't say much more than what was already said, but this jacket is incredible. I'm very happy you got it as I was super tempted when it was originally posted.

I just may have to use this design for a future custom with JL.

Edit: Maybe I will add one more comment. The lapels and lapel roll are what absolutely is nailed. It just might be the best I've ever seen.

That leather/color combo is stunning! It obviously fits you perfectly. I don't think I could pull it off, but you are rockin it. Talk to me about the arm structure - you mentioned it had great mobility. I've seen some of your other jackets with the bi-swing back and underarm gussets. What makes this jacket more comfortable/better? I've becoming obsessed with finding the ideal functional shoulder/sleeve. Let me know thoughts - thanks. Damn this site for feeding this leather jacket fetish!!!!

I think those underarm footballs are really what makes the shoulder area work. That in conjunction with the full action back. Just a really good design.

So i was looking at pictures of this jacket, getting mentally ready to put it on for the first time, and trying to understand what it was and what inspired its features and i think i cracked the code.
I am going to have to respectfully disagree with Tony on it being "based on the venerable Cal LAPD" and i will say that IMO it is a mix of the 1947 Columbia and the regular Columbia.

From the 1947 Columbia it takes the front pocket design (with an extra stitch line on right hand side), the collar, the sleeve zippers and the underarm gussets.

From the regular Columbia it takes the action back design, the waist band stitch pattern (without belt loops) and the double stitch lines at the wrist.
Keep in mind the jacket originally had a 28" back before tony had it shortened, which makes me think that the back dip was rounded like the traditional Cascade (my rounded dip cascade has a 27.5" back which is very similar) rather than the shorter square dip it is now.

This jacket is basically a "Cascade's Greatest Hits and Features 2020" every feature of the WWL-41 can be found on one of these two Langlitz.
Considering my Cascade is my most comfortable jacket this one should be pretty amazing too, I really look forward to seeing it for real.
The only thing i somewhat dislike on my regular cascade is the super long back dip and tony already took care of that for me.

Well there goes my theory...

But they still copied the Cascade's waistband stitch pattern rather than the way it is done on the vintage jacket they posted.
I'd like to see the back of that vintage one.

Hard to argue with the IG post, but it does feel/look more Langlitz to me.

@Carlos840, I thought the same exact thing. The first time I saw this jacket, I immediatly thought Langlitz all the way. My untrained eye thought it was a copy of El Marro's Langlitz. Either way, it is a great looking jacket. You can't go wrong combining Cal, Langlitz, and Johnson together. Can't wait to hear your thoughts when you get it.

Wait a minute, they copied my Langlitz without my permission?!?!?
Just kidding, after all my jacket is just a mixup of a ‘47 Columbia with some of the modern Columbia thrown in for comfort. Pretty much the same features JL selected for this jacket only this one looks a hell of a lot cooler than mine.
I think you are going to be very happy with this jacket Carlos. As I mentioned earlier I tried on one of these in a larger size during my last visit to JL and I loved it.

And I don’t think you will either. Cal’s shoulder gussets look cooler than the action back as far as I’m concerned and that might be a modification to consider if and when I order this jacket.
