Greetings.
My wife and I went to see it on Friday, and can say that we both liked it. Its starts out fast and hard for the first few minutes, before it settles in. Lots of action, as one would expect, and really kept the interest. I'm not much of a movie goer, but I think that the villian in this is the same guy who was the villian in Silence of the Lambs. He played a great part. Go see it!

No, Javier Bardem (Silva) was the actor who played the deadly killer in No Country for Old Men, with Tommy Lee Jones, a few years back. I'll bet what makes you think of Lambs and Hannibal Lecter is that, at a point just past halfway in Skyfall, the Secret Service has Silva in a cell like Lecter (and like Magneto in the first X-Men movie, too).

Just saw it yesterday. It was OK but I was a bit disappointed as it didn't live up to the hype for me. Liked the previous 2 Craig Bond films better. Earl

My daughter and I saw Skyfall this afternoon. Enjoyed it immensely. Except for the bitter end, the plot was completely not predictable. Daniel Craig is still the best Bond - human, imperfect, and a believable assassin.

From the trailers, Jack Reacher looks lame, Hansel and Gretel looks like Cowboys vs. Aliens, and Django Unchained will be a definite To See.

Saw it last night, finally. A very, very good and entertaining movie, with very nice and enjoyable references to the old Bond movies. To me, Craig is the best Bond ever. Looking forward to the next Bond.

I watched the film last night at my local Art Deco movie-house.

Yeah.

The only way to see a film is when you're surrounded by 1930s style.

Anyway...

I was very skeptical of Daniel Craig after I saw "Casino Royale". So much so, I didn't even bother watching QoS.

However, that said, I was very impressed with Skyfall. It's energetic, fast-paced, funny, action-packed, and has a nice pinch of mystery and "backstory" to it, that keeps you wondering.

I think this film was a very nice blending of both the Old, and the New. Moneypenny, the Aston Martin, all the Bond "In-jokes" that only dedicated fans would understand, a Male M for the first time in god knows how many years. I'm not sexist by any means; Judi Dench was a marvellous M. But after watching all the vintage Bond movies with Bernard Lee as M...I just got used to seeing a man as M.

The ending was very very cool. And I think it was an excellent nod to the franchise's 50 year anniversary.

I'd heartily recommend it to any Bond fan. I did not know what expectations I should've set when I decided to see this film, but if I had done so, they probably would've been shattered.

Certainly one of the best Bond films I've seen in a cinema setting for a long time.

---

Also, Bond shaving with a straight-razor. That's just all kinds of cool.

Saw it earlier this week...Lets see....First...,.Sean Connery is still the only Bond for me...Craig doesn't come close...Having said that, I believe this is arguably one of the best Bond movies after Thunderball...
Definitely the best of the Craig Era...the direction and editing was stellar...The sense of humor was back, and just right, for Bond, not over the top like Moore...The villan was excellent...kind of reminded me of Heath Ledger's Joker a little...The nods to the past 50 years were well done and appreciated...The Aston Martin was used very effectively...
The ending seemed to be bringing us up to wear the Bond movies started, with Miss Moneypenny and a male M in place...and Craig did have a bit of the playfulness that until now only Sean could pull off.....I do think Brosnan did a great job, but the directing and special effects detracted from those films....just too many bullets exploding behind Pierce everytime he ran anywhere...and an invisable Aston Martin, come on...

All in all...congratulation to the Bond team...they have produced an entertaining, fun film to watch, worthy of Bond's 50th anniversary...

I agree with you, but I think the last film was a bit dull to be honest. Frankly, all of the Bond movies not starring Sean Connery are quite forgettable to me. It's good entertainment for 2hrs but if you asked me about the plot a week later I couldn't tell you (This goes for most of the crap that hollywood put out these days) . With that being said, mr. Craig does a good job with what he's got (to work with) though!

Brosnan? THe rot set in an awful lot earlier than Brosnan - try Moore. ;)

Roger Moore was the first Bond I ever saw, so by default he became Bond in my mind. That's kinda hard to shake, so he'll always remain one of my favorites. Of course later on I discover Connery, and he cannot be surpassed in my book. I also like Brosnan precisely because to me he seems like an almost perfect cross between Connery and Moore. Lazenby on the other hand is completely forgettable, and Dalton is not far behind.

Daniel Craig took some getting used to, mainly because he plays such a different kind of Bond. But I'm starting to warm up to him. I want to see Skyfall because I'm past ready for another good Bond picture. It's been way too long.

Roger Moore was afraid of his prop firearms, and it showed. (he'll always be the Saint to me)
Bond has always been played as a playboy first and foremost, and a caricature of idealized human perfection.

The stunts in the old Bond movies were cheesy, and the villains were always cartoons. Gadgets and women as gadgets were the stars. It was no wonder they were such an easy target for satire in Austin Powers

Bond is an assassin first and foremost. I'm glad they finally got it straight.

I really enjoyed this one. It was also fun to have a bit of a back-story, and a proper "passing of the torch" for M as it were... I'd like to see Q in any possible future Bond movies, too.

A rather liked the clothes Bond wore at the end, the Barbour jacket that seemed to be laying about the old house in Scotland. The jacket has since gone on to sell out all over the world, which makes me nervous since I would hate to see Barbour get as popular as say Burberry. I love the moments when Bond is lounging about wearing the sort of clothes that men actually wear. I liked the Venice scenes in Casino Royale for the same reason.

I will have to say that it felt very good to see a character dress exactly like I do in "Skyfall." Unfortunately that character was Albert Finney's!

I enjoyed it, not as much as I did Casino Royale, but then again that's my favorite. As for Craig, he's my kind of Bond. His portrayal of a relentless, ruthless, cunning wrecking ball on a gov't leash tempered by just enough sophistication as called for is spot on. And, he looks the part of a soldier-spy with 20 some odd years in dishing it out and taking it back along the way.

A new trailer has been released for the next James Bond movie, Skyfall. It looks pretty incredible. I have to say, Daniel Craig really matches Ian Fleming's character (for me, anyway). He's moved this franchise to a new level and it was very much needed after the debacle (IMO) of some of Pierce Brosnan's Bond films.

I wasn't much of a Bond fan until Daniel came along. Now I'm a Bond addict.

Craig is officially Bond. You can keep "best", "authentic", "true to the books", "whatever". Craig. Is. Bond.

Sean Connery is great, he was a great Bond, but he is 80 odd years old and won't play the part again. Please get over that fact. Cartoon villains, cheesy Bond-girl names and volcano lairs are not going to bring audiences into the theatres anymore.

Best. Bond. Movie. EVER.

Bring on the next one...

I'd agree with you that Craig is Bond. To my thinking, he's the most authentic one to Fleming's true version. The question is, how many more films will Craig do? And who on earth can possibly follow in his footsteps? We shall see...
