I don't think so, if you look at the right hand side collar (left on the picture) the collar is square rather than triangular, more like a Vanson Model B or something like that. It also has a sleeve cuff, which neither the Boardracer or the J-100 has.

It's hard to say what it is other than an 80s 90s cafe racer style jacket...

That looks like an 80s photo. Maybe around Alien or so...
Possibly a mall jacket, Wilsons, or Reed. Not sure who used the paperclip chest zips.

Well, looks a different sleeve, zip, zip pockets and cuffs but he clearly likes that style.
