Here is a thread from a bit over a year ago discussing the item in question.
If it had fit me I would be keeping it, a very nice cut/fabric/price. And although I have been and am a dead-on 40R OTR this medium fit too large. It fits like a 42R. And since I just got this:

from one of our number AND it fits like a glove, it sorta makes the peterman redundant. I tried it on with a thick, chunky wool sweater on underneath & it fit well, but until a return to Canada, I'll not have too many Tennessee days to wear it that way, I'm afraid.

It is a handsome coat, lightweight and w/ a super sharp back-belt, drapes nice, looks great:

One question... could you measure across the chest, when laid flat? Some 42R fits me, some does not...

It is spot on 21" or maybe a skosh less, 20.875"
