How's the sizing on this hat? They seem to have very inconsistent sizing...other than being consistently large! My experience with Akubra has ranged from the hat being just a little too large (which is fine), to absolutely huge, and at least a size and a half too large. Did your hat come out to being the size it should be?

I want one...like I need another hat.

This is my third Akubra - the other two were Federations. My first was a brown Fed, also size 63, that fits just about perfectly. My second was a grey Fed in size 62 (they were out of 63s and I didn't feel like waiting), and weirdly it fits great as well. Some of this is due to the grey hat being noticeably softer than the brown, and thus a bit more conforming. This size 63 Campdraft also fits perfectly (I'm something of a Long Oval, so it has yet to fully fit to my head, but I'm sure it will get there like the Feds did. I could stretch it, but it's not bad the way it is and if I let it get there of its own accord it'll just feel really great to wear).

Ron from Hats Direct sent me an e-mail letting me know that they accidentally charged me Australian tax, so I'll be getting a refund of about $12, bringing the actual total previously mentioned to $134.08. Even better. :)

Akubra Colors?

Nice hat.

Love my Akubras.

I've been looking for a good Open Road in medium brown and medium grey. This may be even better...it's new.

Does anyone have photos that show the other Akubra colors..Taupe Fawn, Mid Brown, Black, Carbon grey and Bluegrass Green?

Beautiful hat. Although I must admit, I liked the first pinch better, it was tighter. I like a tight pinch (on a hat. Not on my me lol )

question on akubra sizing ...

atomic glee i'm considering an akubra myself and have been corresponding with them about how to get the sizing right on the first try. i note that you are a long oval and i'm an extra long oval, so i'd like to know if 63 is your actual measurement or did you go up at all to account for the long oval shape?

i measure 62 which is size 7 3/4 but just bought a new tilley and had to get a size 8 to feel comfortable.

thanks

Think I might be going "Camping" soon...

AG,

Wonderful hat -- in any of the bash incarnations you've shown. :eusa_clap I think you're going to have company as more people order a Campdraft themselves. (Maybe we could start a sub-group of the Brotherhood of the Thin Ribbon called "Happy Campers.")

Since I already have a hat that looks to be that same color, I was hoping to find one in Akubra's blue-ish "Carbon Grey." Most websites don't list it as an option, but one RBH mentioned, does: http://shop.valleycountry.com.au/catalogue/category1/category13/category54/product334

It'll take an extra three months, but I'm thinking it's probably worth it.
