It's a Wonderful "Radio Program"

Last year, I had the opportunity to go see a revisited version of the 1947 Lux Radio Theater's redition of "It's A Wonderful Life" at the Pasadena Playhouse is Pasadena, CA. I filmed the entire show, (thankfully my camera battery lasted), and I was at the top row, so I got a pretty decent view from the camera. I was, however, disappointed since it was not actually being broadcasted, and being in theatre type atmosphere, at the top row at that, it didn't really feel authentic. I still enjoyed it, and just happened to add some of the footage on the internet for all to see. If you don't have Quicktime, you can download it here

Also, they spoke as if it was still 1947, which was funny and refreshing!

Several years ago PBS showed a special program during the holiday season which was nothing more than actors recreating the original script for The Lux version of It's A Wonderful Life.
I remember Tim Robbins was George and Joe Mantegna had a couple of roles... particularly memorable was his doing the part of the bartender, originally played by Sheldon Leonard in the movie.
Boy, I wish PBS would show that again!

One of our local radio stations is doing a live broadcast of It's a Wonderful Life next Tuesday - just heard it in the car this afternoon. Should be interesting. I've got a few friends involved in a mystery radio show as well...I keep hinting when they're doing another show, I'd love to watch them do it.
