I was doing some stuff in my workshop today and accidentally spilled some oil on my right Jim green workhorse moc.

I expect it to lighten up a little after a night on my Peet boot dryer, but ultimately I don't think I have any other choice but to oil them completely with some boot oil to evenly darken them.
I have a bottle of neatsfoot oil somewhere but can't find it, so I ordered a bottle of obenaufs boot oil.

I don't know their tanning process for this Kudu leather, but I can't really worry about that at this point.

Yep! Been there, done that. Sorry that occurred to your nice boots!

I tend toward darker colored boots & leathers these days, just so they can be easily "darkened" more if needed.

yeah they had these in a nice dark brown buffalo ( cape Buffalo I believe) but I didn't really like the particular outsole they paired it with.
this " Sand" color Kudu leather wouldn't have been my first choice but I don't/ didn't hate how it looks.

Oh man, that’s a shame.

I have been identified as someone babying my garb. Largely incorrectly, but it’s true that I don’t like dark stains on light(er) coloured shoes/boots to the extent that I don’t wear them with unwashed indigo dyed jeans.

yeah I've had a habit of forgetting I'm wearing my nice boots when I head into my workshop and then things can happen.
like my Thorogood 1892 tomahawk boots in cognac chromexcel, I spilled a little cold blue solution on them.
that's something that I could never remove.
