Thanks for all the advice! I'm shipping the Stetson along with the Dobb's below to Northwest Hats for the finishing touches. The OR is getting a wide chocolate brown ribbon and brim binding as well as a new sweatband. The Dobbs isn't top quality and it had a ton of moth tracks but I really like it. I washed it and sanded the entire thing and was able to minimize the moth damage somewhat. The end result is a thinner than normal felt that will make a perfect warmer weather beater. That one will also get a new sweatband and a ribbon to match the binding.
I'll post pics when I get them back. While the whole endeavor might have been more time consuming and costly than just finding a vintage hat in good shape and buying it, the satisfaction of saving this pieces and having them finished in a semi custom way is pretty rewarding. My next project will be trying to find another beat up OR and dying it. Anyone got a victim in 7 or 6 7/8 they want to sell me?
