Is This Schott P613s Too Large?

Hi Guys. I’m new here and this is my first post, though I’ve spent a lot of time reading other threads.

I’m looking for advice on the Schott P613S in the photos below. I can’t decide if it’s too large for me. For the most part it feels good. Shoulder width and sleeve length are spot on but there is definitely some extra room in the chest. The worst part is the upper arm area where it meets the back of the jacket. As you can see in the photos, it puffs out there and feels as if the back is a bit too broad for my slender frame. Does anyone have experience with this and know whether or not this part will form to my shape better as I break it in?

I also noticed a couple wavy parts in the back, which makes me think there’s too much leather so it’s bunching up instead of being stretched out flat. I like the bit of extra room for layering, as I already have plenty of tight-fitting jackets that don’t have much room for more than a t-shirt, but I don’t want to regret not sizing down later on.

A few things to note: I’m 6’1”, 175 lbs with a slender/athletic build. My weight fluctuates between 170 - 200, depending on how healthy I’m attempting to be, so I’m on the thin side right now. This is a size medium. I have many leather jackets, some of which are high quality, but this is the first legit motorcycle jacket I’ve bought. I don’t ride, but the Horween No. 8 steerhide is so beautiful I decided to take a chance with this. So the fit I’m looking for is more of a fashion fit than a riding fit.

Sorry for the terrible pictures. Attempted bathroom mirror selfies are the worst. Thanks for any advice you have to share!

sleeve is at your perfect length for non rider so you can't go any smaller I guess, but perhaps cinch in the belt more so the front learn more interesting creases around the belt, kidney panel, and hem line, since it looks very boxy on the profile view.

Appears to be spot on. Only you will know though.
Experience has taught me that if it’s not right, right away, it rarely gets better by wearing it in.
Again, I think it looks great.

Looks good to me.

Someone might say that whenever there's any doubt, there's no doubt but sometimes (most of the time) we just don't have a clue and have unrealistic expectations and ideas that have no merit in real in the real world.

If this is an M, a size S might be turn out to be too small.

Size looks right to me; I think anything smaller would be restrictive and look too small. May just be the angle of the photos, but it looks on the long side for a Perfecto type to my eye, but that's to personal taste. I like the colour. Looks like a nice hide.

Good idea. The sleeves are really the perfect length so sizing down would sacrifice that. I’ll try cinching down the belt.

Thank you. It feels right enough, but I can't help but wonder if it could feel righter, if that makes sense. Looking at the specs for a size small, it's just an inch smaller here and an inch smaller there...
I have a cafe racer that was so tight and stiff when I first put it on that I couldn't move and I couldn't imagine wearing it, but after breaking it in it became quite comfortable. That being said, even though it feels good now, it still pulls in a couple places in the back, which shows that I should have trusted my gut and sized up. It was an ebay purchase though, so exchanging for a different size wasn't an option.

Thanks for the insight. I think this is a case where I'm just not sure of my expectations. If it was a thinner, fashion-focused designer jacket I could assess the fit with more confidence. As my first actual riding jacket in a heavy steerhide, I am outside the realm of my experience. My gut tells me it fits the way it is intended to and I shouldn't expect an overly slim fit. I suspect the areas in which my doubt lies will improve as it softens up. It's just a matter of being used to jackets that hug like they were made for me.

Thanks, the color is what made me by it. I certainly didn't need another jacket, but damn that hide is nice.
I agree that it's slightly longer than I'm used to. Having measured, it's one inch longer than other similar styles I own. That being said, it's rather nice to have a slightly longer option.

Helps keep the cold off the lower back! My Johnson D pocket is slightly longer than my Shot Perfecto; on cooler evenings that can help keep the draft out!
