Is the Buco J-24 overrated?

RMC lost my respect and admiration when they decided to slap the Buco name on Fanny packs and bowling shirts.

This type of exploitation weakens credibility. And while it’s not necessarily indicative of anything they do, I’ve never seen one that looks as good as the original American made jacket, regardless of how it’s put together or the materials used. The only Buco knock off that comes close is LW’s. But that’s a story for another thread. Im not trying to come off as a hater but I think the brand does in fact suffer from being IG famous, made so largely by an audience who doesn’t really know what they are looking at or talking about.

No issues so far with the zipper on mine. I’d read a lot of folks had issues with them so I applied graphite to mine as soon as I bought it.

As for whether or not these jackets overrated, the look is so nice and the quality of the leather is just amazing! I don’t think they’re overrated but it definitely ***** that you need to baby the hardware.
I definitely agree about the look.
As for the stitching, maybe I was just unlucky. But the zipper… honestly, I have to say it’s pretty disappointing.

I own two Schotts from 1994 and I worry far less about their zippers than I do about the Buco, which is kind of crazy when you think about it… haizz.
