Is more than one A2 being a bit excessive?

Good day everyone,
I seem to have a bit of a moral dilemma and thought I'd share it for opinions.
I have an Aero ANJ-3 in seal brown which I'm very glad to have in my small collection (B3, Irvin, Luftwaffe and a couple of C3s) and it rounds out my seasonal wear very nicely.
But since a copy of American Flight Jackets was gifted to me (thanks Nick123!), I find myself very drawn to a couple of the "Hump" A2s of the CBI theatre. They look so cool to me and I love the patches and the painted mission tallies with the camels ... and I've been thinking of getting a russet A2 and collecting the patches and putting the whole thing together ...
But of course, I already have an ANJ-3; so getting an A2 really wouldn't make a lot of sense as they're identical in terms of warmth and the A2 has one less pocket, so is less practical ... But still ... I'm feeling that urge!

So I was wondering - to all you appreciators of A2s - do you have more than one A2 at any one time ?
Or is it just me feeling a bit excessive here and perhaps I should just go and lie down until the feeling goes away?

For me - I need one A2 at a time. Had quite a few - but never two together.

But, hey! I'm out of line! Get the two if you want. Sounds good to me:D:D;)

Hell to the No!

For me, the magic number is two (or possibly three) A2s- and just try to get em as different as possible

I ran into a snapper out on a job who was wearing a mid-brown 38 contract A-2 with dark brown knits. Still fancy something along those lines. Maybe next year...:D Kinda addictive, this jacket lark, isn't it?

Current tally is 3 Goodwear's, two russet, one seal, a russet Aero, and a seal current model cockpit, so no, more than one is not an issue as far as I'm concerned. All are A2's but none of them are the same, so I'm fine with the concept.
Your location only says Canada, which corner?

Directly above the center of the Earth.
There is a very nice add on that you can have stiched into the back lining of a Hump jacket. It was intended for the USN as a liferaft map, it is basicaly the whole of the Western Pacific surface winds and surface currents printed on silk. Makes a very nice liner.

With limited resources and a big thing for civilian jackets of the period, I've stopped at two, but with unlimited funds I could justify five, I think:

Seal, brown knits, plain
Seal, the very dark, almost black, type, with very red knits (typical of the original Aero.... 42? contract), plain
Russet, plain
Seal, patched
Russet, patched.

One of the last two ETO, one CBI.

Heh.

Keep em all just different enough, I think, is the secret...

More than one A2 is not excessive IMO. However my current tally of 20 originals, 7 GWs and 1 ELC A2 could be described as excessive! The originals are worn occasionally, such as to air shows and the repros are daily wearers.

Well I don't have even one because they don't appeal to me at all - but there are no rules, except maybe one. Buy what you can afford. If that means 2 or 42 A2's that's fine. This is a pretty mild and affordable hobby, compared to collecting classic cars or planes...

Wandered into the office at the start of the week, wearing my 'new' A-2. A chorus went up: "Another one?!". But then they all 'had a go' - we have a small place, it didn't take long - and it was considered very nice and quite covet-able, they were particularly surprised by its weight. Before long I will have them all hooked...

+1 I'll go with that :)
