Interesting. Do you have pictures of the liner and sweatband?
I have a similar hat by Mallory. The Ad is from 1952 so your hat would probably weigh in around there.
I like the mix of casual and dressy in these models. In a light weight it just makes sense.

Here's a peek at the inside. The BeachComber name is in script at the front of the sweat (not shown). The felt weight is actually medium but very pliable and excellent at holding a shape. It was made for Rothschild, perhaps the BeachComber was a "special label" model. Eric

Well truth be told, it wasn't my size when I found it.......but it is now lol
