A happy biker with flight jackets

Hi all, I don't know how to post pictures but here are some items I bought from Ebay. You have to use item number to find the pictures. I love them all because each one serves different purpose. Most are used to keep me warm and look cool on my Harley. All comments are welcome. At my age, negative comment can actually make my day. I consider the Polo is the functional runway item in-style. I am now have less money in the bank but a happy biker.

Thank you very much guys !

AlcoholicArtist, which model was it ? Sorry about the size ; mine suits me like a charm ^^ I will definately not sell this jacket (not the first time I decline, while I was offered much more than the original price I paid). Second winter wearing it, and absolutely loving it. In fact, even when I don't wear it, I'm spending lots of time looking at it in my cupboard, admiring all the work done. It facinates me.

JollyGreenSlugg, I agree that it's not the average biker jacket... All the details put onto the jacket might seem a little crazy and makes it looking more like a cloth coming from a movie or a comic book. But it is a lot of fun to wear. Seriously, you have to see it for real to make your mind up, and with that second collar removed, it can almost look "discrete" (at least as much as discrete an authentic Irvin or a B3 could be in the middle of Paris). My only concern was regarding resistance. So I discussed hours with shoemakers, furriers, leather care specialists, military garnment addicts, about it. They were all impressed by it and found it very special. They told me it was meant to last, and I wish it will.

Panacheman, here is a close up of what the leather look like. It is very soft to the touch, unlike what we might think with the visual.

Dr Greg, I saw all the imitations that had been done, even Benetton and Porsche Design copied it ! Actually, I'm honoured that my jacket, inspirated by war jackets, was then a great source of inspirations for them. But as you said, quality and efforts put into it are not the same, and this fashion trend will fade so it doesn't bother me.

Hey mimaximax good to hear back from you about the jacket.
Mine is the canvas version in "fawn" a military greenish colour, it's a large and I'm a small but I look great in it and I love it!
I know what you mean about constantly looking at the jacket even when you're not wearing it I'm hypnotised by it haha.

Are the zips/ buckles black on yours? Mine are a kind of distressed brushed brass colour, god I'm so obsessed with the prorsum aviators I could look at them/ talk about them forever.

How do you wear yours collar up/ down/ second collar detached? Sorry I'm probably verging on creepy now lol.

Zip and buckles are matt black on mine and suit me perfectly this way ; but I love the "distressed brushed brass colour" at least as much !

Since the leather version is very hot and quite heavy, I often have my collar down, as presented in the picture below. The jacket is lighter like that. Indoors, when I have to remove it a lot or to take it with me, I put the jacket on my shoulders, like a cape. I only add the second collar when it's very cold outside.

How did you wear it finally, what are your new habits ?

4795 euros ? Just wait september for that hunting suede quilted jacket to show up which doubles it. Their prices are increasing each season ; they might feel being looked down if their price isn't on par with balmain or other fashion brands.

I believe you would.
The problem is only that at that amount of money, everybody will believe it's fake.
And the second problem: You'll never be able to take it off, hang it somewhere or drop it on the floor in the pub.

I don't get it! 4795 EUROS - for that amount you can get at least 5 prime quality repro Irvins.
This is insane!

I can see it. It's not for me, but the market they're pitching this to won't typically be interested in our "cheap", non-designer jackets, and will be after something new rather than the "old" designs we favour. If we all "got" it, they'd be doing something wrong. ;)
