BOSTON! LETS GO PATRIOTS!!!
Ava Gardner

Ilse Huterer (my grandmother who I never met)

Anastasia Romanov: I was fascinated by her story when I was a child

Mary Boelyn

The young Henry VIII, he was handsome and full of intrigue

The Fitzgeralds (they count as 1!)

As for inviting Hitler, I don't find him compelling, nor do I think that their is any insight to be gained from him. So, the only way he'd be at my dinner party was if his head was on a platter, with an apple in his mouth! Maybe for after dinner entertainments we could use his head like it was a pinata, although I don't think anything insightful or compelling will fall out of it...

1. Buster Keaton, because there's something about the man I flat like.

2. and 3. Hitler and Rasputin, because I think they would be fascinating to talk to.

4. An unknown soldeir from any war, because I want to know who they are, and try to figure out why they're unknown.

5. Molly Brown - pretty obvious. The conversation on taste alone would be priceless.

6. Pope John Paul the II. He's just an amazing man.

Of course, my dinner party would be fraught with politics and murderous plots. But really, I'd rather meet them one on one.

I'd also like to meet my dead grandfathers, and have my Aunt Glorene and Uncle Casey back too.

Newt Gingrich-to talk policy
My maternal grandfather because he died before I was old enough to know him
Winston Churchill because I admire him and he smoked cigars.

Salvador Dali - I'd like to have spoken to him, though I'm not sure how nice he would really be based on some of his attitudes..

H.P. Lovecraft - Great writer, would have been great to see what he thinks about the continued enthusiasm for his work.

Lief Erickson - Would like to discuss his explorations first hand, assuming he brings a translator.

Can we have Franklin and Eleanor as one??

Groucho Marx - ..hey, it's Groucho!

My Grandmother- because it would be great to talk to her one more time.

My second dinner party:

Elie Wiesel

Simon Wiesenthal

Anne Frank

All the US soldiers who were killed fighting Hitler's regime

Max Huterer (Aushwitz/Dachau survivor)

and Hitler, so he could first face his victims, then be slowly tortured with butter knives and pickle forks and served up on a platter as the centerpiece of the lovely table I would set for my welcome and insightful guests.

Oh, and Darwin, if there was room, I'd love to sit with him for a while:)

Hi,
Wow, what a great game!

Kurt Vonnegut

I just feel like my attitude toward life would be less serious and so much more serious after an hour with Kurt.

Fred Astair
Class through osmosis

Richard Harris
The stories

Gurtrude Stien
Wow

Franklin Roosevelt
If I could learn a little of anything, to speak like that. Even a little.

and Eleanor
My side would ache. My smile muscles. Ever laugh so much for so long that you got a little rash under your eyes from the tears?

William Gibson
Just another little glimpse into the future.

Dianna Rigg (as she is today)
Dianna Rigg. Nuff said.

Kate Hepburn
We would have gotten along. Famously.

Antoine de Saint-Exup?©ry - One of the first, and still one of the best writer/aviators. A best friend I never met.

Richard Bach - A modern Saint-Exup?©ry. For the same reason

Napoleon Hill Author of "Think and Grow Rich" - Because this book changed my life.

Nikola Tesla - I'd love to know the secrets that died with that man.

If torturous is on the menu better add some razor blades too!;)

You know, some jobs are better left to, ah, shall we say "professionals"--those of us who actually are cold-blooded... OTOH, remind me to never get on your bad side...

Besides, it'd be more fun to hop him up on uppers (to prevent shock-induced shutdown), then give him "the ultimate IN-body experience" with a set of electrodes to the spinal column like in a scene from Ludlum's Janson Directive. And then Auric Goldfinger's table and industrial laser might be fun for the followup:

007: "Do you expect me to talk, Goldfinger?"
Goldfinger: "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to DIE!"

My list, DQ'ing anyone I know in personal life:

MacArthur: career advice, plus you can't get any better data source for a thesis on an individual than that person him/herself. (My thesis suggests he may have actually had a form of autism, the same as Bill Gates does.)

Paul Tibbets, the pilot of Enola Gay: The man has gotten a raw deal from the Air Force and society for his entire life, and I'd want to offer him a quiet, simple sympathetic location and supportive ear.

Amelia Earhart: For her time, being both a woman and a pilot was an exceptionally out-there thing. I'd wanna hear some of her anecdotes about success in spite of all the critics...

Benjamin Davis (Tuskegee Airmen CO): Same general reason.

George Patton and Erwin Rommel: Just 'cause I'd wanna see what these two would actually be like in the same room, without a war on...

And if there's room for three more: Kelly Johnson, Howard Hughes and Wernher von Braun. I'd want to see what three of the top minds in aerospace history could do if they put heads together, and if Johnson and Hughes could set their egos aside or iron out their differences...

Heck, Hughes alone would be interesting, if you could break through to the man behind the outer "shell"...

EDITED TO NOTE: This is just for historical research, if I were actually looking for personal growth the only name who'd stay on the list is Old Mac, and maybe Hughes.

Moe, Shemp, ,and Curly Howard,...and also Larry Fine. The 4 Stooges.
Also the artists, Salvadore Dali and Maxfield Parrish.
The food fight alone would make for a helluva fun evening. :D

Yeah, but they were all supposed to be very classy and cultivated gentlemen. Doubt the food would go anywhere but mouths, unless Dali wanted to try an experimental painting.

Yeah, but do you have to live with having once been known as "Terminator"--and having it be an accurate description of what your personality once was? (Thank God a good team including my college's entire Psych Department helped me develop past that, actually stitching something that could be considered "human" onto that psychological framework.)

By "professional", I mean someone with years of study in the field--this is a euphemism, not in the sense of "professional vs. unprofessional". I'm absolutely certain that y'all are "professionals" within your respective areas of expertise.

Should I perhaps replace that word with "nullification specialist"?

EDITED TO NOTE: I may have years of study in this field, but that doesn't make me "Field Grade." Besides, there's a good chance it would conflict with an oath I swore to protect the innocent, the helpless and the defenseless (or at least the "less hardened targets") to the best of my ability. Ahh, the curse of having a "Guardian" personality type...
