Introducing both "Journeyman" and "Hitchhiker"

A slide on leather band would cost less in the long run than a hand sewn ribbon done by Art.

I thin kaosharper1 was saying that he didn't mind if his handmade hat came with a mass produced puggaree.

My original notion of adding a pugaree was also based on a simple mass-produced pug that would simply need to be attached to the hat, and voila! Ostensibly, efficient in terms of time and cost.

I agree Gents and have thought about that very thing. I went to the Bay Area ( San Francisco) for the Christmas holiday and while there was able to get to my favorite fabric shop for the purpose of pugaree fabric. Although I did get some cloth that will look good on panamas, neither would work on the Hitchhiker and only possibly on Journeyman ( black with white stripes, hard to describe). I will be sending it off for fabrication soon & I'll intro them later this year unless one works well on the Journeymen.
In the mean time I'm still plugging away at sources and problem solving so here is another version or "option" for the hitchhiker. I'll picture ribbons last in this process because frankly, there aren't any problems so solve with ribbon. Piece- o -cake when it comes to ribbon .

Ooooooh, I VERY much like this new leather band on the Hitchhiker. That's a hat I'd buy in a heartbeat!
