Not sure it is tiny, though. Looks like it was first sold in Italy, so the size on the tag might be the old French sizing wherein 6-1/2 translates to an American 7-3/8.

The pic is too fuzzy for me to be sure, though.

You were right! I got the hat and it is certainly not a 6 7/8. 7 3/8 seems pretty close. It's hard to read the little tag to see whether it actually does say 6 1/2.

In any case, I have a beautiful vintage Borsalino that I want to sell. Size is around 7 3/8. If someone has tips on how to get exact size I'd appreciate it.

Here, again, is link to ebay auction with pictures:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=140149751858&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=004

I will likely list it in FL classifieds soon. If anyone wants to make an offer you can email me at hsitz at nwlink dot com.

Take a very high resolution photo of that label and post it here. Also, measure from front to back and side to side of the opening. Though crude, it's easier and more accurate that a circumference measurement. Also, accurate measurements of crown height and brim width (looks about 2-2 1/4").
