Good Lord young man! Get thee to Blockbuster now!

Seriously, if you're a fan of the 1930's and 40's for whatever reason and you post regularly on the Fedora Lounge then I'm betting you'll like and maybe love the movies.

Indy/Harrison Ford is a man's man. Men want to be like him and women want to be with him.

Those movies were the "gateway drug" to interests in fedoras, leather jackets, old-time Hollywood adventure/detective/war films, the 1930s, world history, archaeology, etc., for many people.

The Fedora Lounge itself was originally an offshoot of earlier Web projects by dedicated Indiana Jones fans who wanted to learn about/replicate Indy's costume and gear - check out http://www.indygear.com/index.shtml and especially its forum, Club Obi-Wan.

I think it was mentioned earlier in this thread that it's been so long since an Indy movie was produced that a whole generation has grown up with little or no knowledge of him. My interest in vintage goes back way further than that, but I'm definitely an Indy fan. Yes, dude, go rent the whole series and enjoy.

Yeah, I was also into all kinds of old-time stuff long before Raiders came out - I had collected hats all through my 60s childhood, was a mega-movie buff/collector, had majored in History in college, etc. But seeing Raiders (on opening day, at Loew's Astor Plaza - one of the peak moviegoing experiences of my life, as I've reported here before) recrystallized these interests and motivated me to really start looking for a proper leather jacket and hat.

And I don't know about this whole generation that arose that knew not Indy: my now-teenage kids saw the Indy films on VHS as soon as I thought they were old enough to appreciate them. (But then, these are my kids: I've shown them everything from Buster Keaton to Ingmar Bergman too.)

This place is about vintage my friend, and most love Indy.

I just sent you a PM. Do you have any idea what the Fedora Lounge is about, and how it came to be?

I suggest you read some old threads and get some great insight, wonderful education, and knowledge.

This is a place of enjoyment for all things vintage: Old Movies, Film Noir, Classic Style, Quality Clothes...Indy.....etc.
