There's one thread on the FL where some guys are trying to get together a special order of Campdrafts in grey. Maybe there'd be enough rumbling here to bring back the Fed III?Matt Deckard said:
You're right--if you compare the movie still with my Fed IV, you can just tell that the movie hat is a *little* taller. Unfortunately, there are only a few NOS FED IIIs left, including a fair selection of black Deluxes, but AFAIK, no moonstones.
The Fed IV is 5-5/8" and you can keep it taller looking by bashing a shallower crease.
My point wasn't that it was a perfect replica, but that it captures a lot of the profile in a hat that can be worn daily--even in bad weather--for a very reasonable price.
